St. Comgall’s was previously a school but had been derelict for many years. Through the hard work of the Falls Community Council the former school has been reinvented into a state of the art work and event space.
Stylografik were tasked with developing a brand style, brand direction and look/feel for all brand assets for this exciting new addition to the Belfast business landscape. This included everything from a brand identity and corporate guidelines through to print design, advertising, social media design and corporate document design.
Stylografik worked together with the St. Comgall’s team to develop and evolve the brand design to ensure it met all requirements including being relevant to their core demographic, referenced the amazing history of the building and provided a future-proof brand that can evolve as the business grows.
The brief was simple; the brand must be modern and professional, but also reference the history of the building. During our initial visit to St. Comgall’s we identified an old advertising board that had been used in the 1950’s – this board featured some beautiful hand-drawn lettering spelling out the name ‘St. Comgall’s’. This find became the catalyst for the brand direction as we developed a bespoke font based on this hand-drawn lettering. The colour palette for the brand was derived from colour picks from the original brickwork and floors for the old school, and we also incorporated lines – inspired by old jotters – as a brand device across all elements.
